Spectral analysis of ultrasonic waves for the characterization of thermally treated wood.

Résumé

In this paper, we report the ability of ultrasonic spectral analysis to point out the influence of thermal treatments on the rheological behaviour of wood. A short theoretical background is given, as well as the description of the experimental device. After some results on PVC, duraluminium and natural wood, we present our results on the study of the changes in velocity and apparent attenuation of thermally treated wood.
