Entropy Balance and "Entropy Condition" in Infiltration Metasomatism

Abstract : The chemical transformation of a rock by a pervading fluid in disequilibrium with it, is modelled by a partial differential equation of hyperbolic type : in some cases, this may admit discontinuous solutions. In the mathematical framework suitable for the discontinuous solutions, it is necessary to add to the starting equation a so called entropy condition, wich is made clear here.
