INTEGRATION OF RFID TECHNOLOGIES FOR HELICOPTER MAINTENANCE, IMPACTS ON PROCESSES

Abstract

This study is concerned with the integration of auto-identification technologies in an aircraft. These components will allow a better knowledge (higher accuracy) of the aircraft configuration once it is operational under the customer's responsibility. These data are essential for support and service activities, fleet management, customer satisfaction and competitiveness. In the framework of our study, we estimate the profitability of RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) technologies integration for aircraft management. The investment associated with hardened technologies allows for major advantages, particularly on maintenance processes.
