Diffusion dans un réseau cristallin imparfait

Abstract : By means of the theory of absolute reaction rates, the diffusion of a neutral particle through imperfact crystalline lattices is studied. Under the assumption that such defects create abnormal potential energy barriers for the diffusing particles, it is possible to derive the value of the diffusion flow, which in the case of a stationary process is independent of the position of the barriers. The flow expression is developped when the abnormal barriers are very high, and distributed after a Poisson law. The model is applied to gas-solid or solid-solid reactions.
