Deals with the problem of combining efficiently management with manufacturing processes, in a new context deeply transformed by manufacturing automation. The authors first present the economic context, and then develop competitiveness evaluation as a collective learning process, needing a metasystemic representation. This generic model is then tested on a classical flowshop example, through object oriented simulation
