Influence of adsorbed hydroxyl species on the electrical conductance of SnO2

Abstract

The origin of the electrical conductance maximum observed in tin dioxide with different gases has been studied. An interpretation of the high conductance value observed at low temperature is proposed and it has been found that the grain boundaries are very sensitive to gas adsorption. The contribution of water vapour to the electrical model has also been considered.
