Optimisation d'un traitement thermique du bois via un plan factoriel fractionnaire

Abstract : Retification is a mild pyrolysis which considerably improves dimensional stability and resistance to biodegradation of wood. We analyzed the effects of parameters linked to wood species and process operation on retification performances (treatment duration, hygroscopy and mechanical properties of wood). Treatments were conducted at our pilot scale kiln following an fractional factorial design 25-2. We concluded to the need of an inert atmosphere in the kiln and chose the best treatment temperatures. Two similar resinous reacted differently to retification. The influence of pyrolysis duration entitles us to be confident in the robustness of our process and in its soon-to-be industrialization.
