Stability of steady states in some solid-liquid systems

Résumé

A complete analytical characterization of the stability of steady states occuring in a liquid solution-solid grain system is proposed. Different cases are studied, according to whether the system is closed or exchanges mass with the outside; the influence of diffusion on stability is discussed. In most instances, explicit relations can characterize the stability conditions. The description of the stability of a grain in the presence of its solution is an important element in many fields, especially in geology for a knowledge and forecasting of mineralization processes.
