Electrochemical properties of cathode material La0.75Sr0.25Cr0.5Mn0.5O3 for Single Chamber Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SC-SOFC)
Abstract
Sr1.5LaxMnO4 (LSCM) was prepared by solid state reaction and studied by XRD, SEM and EIS spectrum, respectively. The results show that LSCM maintains good chemical stability at high temperature in the reduced C3H8-O2-N2 atmosphere. This material has no reaction with YSZ at 1400°C in air. The short circuit current density of the anode supported single chamber solid oxide fuel cell (SC-SOFC) Ni-YSZ/YSZ/LSCM reached 317 mA/cm2 and the maximum power density was 73 mW/cm2 at 700°C in C3H8-O2-N2 mixed atmosphere. In the gradient cathode SC-SFOC, a short circuit current density of 560 MA/cm2 and the power density 110 MW/cm2 was obtained in the same test condition. In this way, the ouput performance of the cell increased by about 50%.
