Context awareness as a Service for Cloud Resource Optimization

Résumé

Cloud computing architectures involve different actors which we divide into four categories : IaaS providers, PaaS providers, PaaS clients and end users. Contracts are established between actors, and each actor intends to optimize its costs. We advocate that paying attention to the end users context and providing context awareness as a service at the PaaS provider level would allow PaaS clients to develop multimodal services and thus optimize infrastructure use. In this paper, we explain how context awareness could be included in the cloud infrastructure, and the impact it could have at the level of each actor.
