19 - Specific Cases of Corrosion Fatigue
Abstract
This chapter presents the different stages of corrosion fatigue damage in the case of a commercial 2024-T351 aluminum alloy exposed to an NaCl environment. We are particularly interested in the synergies which occur during the crack initiation phase between localized corrosion and stress, and during long crack propagation under cyclic loading. It is based on work undertaken by Nathalie Pauze for her PhD thesis.
