Abstract

Search tools is to retrieve relevant information from heterogeneousautonomous and distributed informationour solution focused on two topics Firstwe introduce the use of metadata to describe and represent documents on the WWW We use the Dublin Core semantics and an extended SOIF syntax to represent these metadataWe suggest how it can improve information retrieval on the WWW and reduce the network load generated by the robotsSecondwe describe a _exible architecture based on two kinds of tools generalists and specialists that collect and organize these metadatain order to localize the resources on the WWW. They contribute to the overall auto_organizing information process by exchanging their indicestherefore forwarding their knowledge each other.
